I know other people do it, but I can’t find any directions for doing it myself. Can some brilliant person out there tell me how to do that on WordPress?
Thanks

I think you can do it after uploading the pics in the media section, which you find on your dashboard. I have created a page “Gallery” on my blog and if I go in there and edit it I get the option for a slideshow. Does that help or not really?
I think I’ve done that gallery thing, but couldn’t find the slideshow option. I’ll try again tomorrow, though, and thanks for the help. I’ll let you know if it works.
Ok. If you go to your gallery on the page you have it on and click on “edit” it should lead you to the “Edit Page”. There you have the window with the pics in it. Click on the pics and then you should get a frame around them with that pen sign and the X. Click on the pen and it leads you to “Edit Gallery” and on the side you should see “Gallery Settings”. In the Gallery Settings you have the option “Types” and there you should be able to find “Slideshow”. I hope this helps you…
I’m working on it. I guess the first step is to put the photos into the gallery. I can’t just transport a whole slideshow. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your help. I had to learn first to construct a gallery. I was wrong about already having one. Anyway, I am really grateful for the time you gave me. And I’m happy to say I finally got it done. — another skill under my belt — or should I say, “on my blog.”
Mona, NOT the faintest clue how to do the photos! I hope you get help with this. Stay warm. We arrived tonight in St. Augustine.
ooh, I loved our week in St. Augustine. Contrary to florida propaganda it was cold. One restaurant had a sign saying “warm inside” where one would have expected to see “air conditioning” advertised. but it was a good week nonetheless.
I have no idea, besides the thing I read – you need to have a plugin installed on your browser 😦
Thanks for offering help. I don’t know if I have a plugin. I do manage to post photos, though. Anyway, I’ll work on it some more tomorrow. (and let you know if I succeed.)
https://wordpress.org/plugins/slideshow-jquery-image-gallery/ you can download it here
I think I now have the plug-in. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks.
Thanks so much for giving me the gift of time and knowledge. It turns out I did already have the plug in. I just had to learn to use it properly. As you can see, I finally mastered it. I am so grateful for your attention and help.
That would not be me I am afraid. See you Monday. Love, Dottie
Sorry, don’t have the foggiest idea. In fact when it comes to anything to do with computers I usually have to enlist my children’s help!
Hey there, Dottie. With all you know and do, and how you are always there on e-mail, you can’t be expected to know everything. I’m not sure I could tolerate a perfect friend. What a challenge that would be to live up to! Yes, see ya’ Monday – looking forward to it.
Thank goodness for the smart new generation!
Mona, this is what the WordPress Happiness engineers are all about. Just ask them for help. Sometimes they send a video-link. But i think Ammomasview has got it 🙂
Thanks, Leelah. Is there an easy link to reach them? I think I’m putting clues together.
maybe this is a good start?

This is my job for today, once I get past my zillion e-mails. (No, “zillion” is not a real English word. At least I don’t think so.) Thanks for this. I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks so much, Leelah, for your attention and help. As you can see, I finally “got” it — another skill mastered.
You make me so happy by being there when I need you.
I am not sure if the other comments helped. If not check out http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/ It gives a step by step approach.
I love step by step guides. I can hardly wait to try this. (after I finish making my way through the rest of my daily e-mails) Thanks. I’ll keep you posted
Thank you so much for the step by step. Even then I had a troubled brow making my way through it. Still, it’s the end that counts — right?
I just want to be sure you know how much I appreciate your attention and help. Hurray for step by step guides, and for people like you who care enough to give the gift of time and knowledge.
One thing about which you can be absolutely certain – I have no idea!
Join me in my victory! The one thing I determined to master (or is it mistress) today. And with so many other important things to do … Oh well, I managed to do it at least once.
