I have a hard time understanding people who send me complaints about their tax dollars being used to free students of burdening debts but never complain about paying tax dollars to support the infrastructure on which the Billionaire businesses rely while managing to pay almost nothing in taxes.

I agree with you. I have heard much of the same, and I believe the people who complain about this are folks with the mindset that they feel that the students with these loans are on the same playing field as themselves, basicly in the same social/economic structure–not well heeled like the rich folk who get these free passes in this culture. They take umbrage to the fact that these students are being favored over everyone else in thier own standing or class so to speak. I think that many people are so vindictive and petty these days, putting thier own selfishness over the good of others. I believe this to be the case. It has always been a war of Us ( the working middle to low class) vs Them ( the wel heeled) in the economic theatre–that this class of people for whtever goofy unfounded reason give the rich folk a pass cuz, they could never compete on thier playing field. Sad, really.
It really is distressing, isn’t it … ? But you guys continue to know how to live life well. I love that about you.
Thanks, Mona,—After re-reading my commet, I should have clarified myself better. I really meant big corporations and companies and fat cats getting all those loopholes, not that all the rich peopel in this country get the same. It was unfair to make a negative blanket statement about rich people as a whole.
I got it. And agree
