I have not yet taken the time to read the several forwarded articles that are of interest to me. Yet I feel the need to comment on your introductory comment. No doubt, as I have gone through life, I have done a number of things that are deserving of an apology to those I have wronged. On the other hand, when I am aware of these shortcomings I find it easiest to apologize and/ or acknowledge my part in the problem. It’s the truth and therefore I don’t have to try to remember what I might have said. It is not unusual for me to see a look of surprise or a small physical reaction to my acceptance of my part in the problem. Fairly often, it leaves the person to whom I am speaking at a loss for words. And I rather enjoy it when I realize that I have brought to a halt their plan to confront me. Strength? I’ve never thought of it that way. It is just the most simple and honest thing to do.
Good point!
