Yes, I love my Movado, but the point I wanted to make a couple of blogs ago was the wild discrepancy in the meaning of money. For example, today on the consignment web there was a “Chloe small toss shoulder bag” available for $1,195.00. Or you might have preferred the “Balenciaga neoclassic city mini bag” in pink for $1,645.00 (estimated retail value $1850.00.)
Do I need to point out what either of those amounts would have meant to a family about to be evicted?
That’s all. More thoughts tomorrow.
Wild indeed! Do you think it ever will change? I wonder
Today I’m not feeling positive. I think we’re at the tragic end of a grand experiment. Thanks for noticing.
Yes, Mona. Yes! Eisenhower’s statement about military expenditures applies to household spending habits as well. The money should go to stop evictions.
and support the landlords who are also affected. There’ s broader application too. Just think what a difference it would make if the very wealthy paid their full share for Social Security and Medicare, or on the income from their wealth. I have no objection to people having massive wealth. What I object to is the poverty at the other end. And WWJD? Thanks for commenting.
