Thank you for sharing this video, Mona. What a powerful and succinct summary of how racism has been intentionally incorporated into our culture during the past 150 years. If more information like this had been incorporated into history classes, perhaps our nation would be closer to living up to our democratic ideals of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” as “liberty and justice for all.”
Thanks for the appreciation, Gaye. What a beautiful ideal. Will we ever approach it? Will we ever get to the other side of this period and find goodness and love there?
I’m glad there was more than one of us who appreciated it. So straightforward and clear. No need to insert any emotional words or judgment. As for how I’m doing, you know more about me than I do about you what with my blog entries. At least I think it shows that so far I’m happy as a clam, leaving behind all dreams of cruises and travel for the next year or so, and having a ball finishing up “My Father’s House,” and “It Sucks!,” — the Nick book, soon to be available. Love ya! Dottie..I assumes you are safe at home and not out delivering.
I guess we are always the victims of. propaganda or misinformation or disinformation — even before the more obvious cases of today. Our small Zoom group — mostly Waters folks — has been exploring, basically now awash in information, but this one from my point of view is the best. Just plain facts that should help us understand the disadvantages of being black without getting balled up in personal guilt and defensiveness. It’s a system that needs not only dismantling, but practical restoration and reconciliation of some sort.
I think of you often, hoping you are staying safe on the job.
Powerful, right? One of my friends sent it to her school-age grandchildren. Oh the information that’s been kept from us! And always good to connect with you, Wendy. Thanks.

Outstanding informational post, Mona. THis is all so historically based in fact….it is sad how the truth has been hidden!!
